Wi-Fi Calling, also known as VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi), allows customers to make and receive voice calls and SMS using a Wi-Fi network directly from the phone’s native dialer, even when mobile coverage is weak or unavailable (such as basements or deep indoor areas). No additional app is required.
No. Wi-Fi Calling is built into your phone. If your handset supports it, you simply switch it on in Settings — there is nothing to download.
Yes. The other party does not need Wi-Fi Calling or VoLTE.
Not every phone does — the handset has to be certified. Type your IMEI or your handset model into the box at the top of this page and we will tell you straight away.
Dial *#06# on your phone and the IMEI appears on screen. You can also find it in Settings, under About phone. We use only the first 8 digits, which identify the model.
Yes. It is available for both prepaid and postpaid customers.
Wi-Fi Calling is currently available through selected partner ISPs and coverage areas. It is also available for all gpfi customers, subject to device compatibility.
Yes. Wi-Fi Calling can be used on both SIMs if enabled in device settings.

There are three common reasons: the handset is not certified, the SIM is not a Grameenphone SIM, or the phone's software is out of date. Check your handset in the box above first, then update your software.
No. Once switched on it stays on, and your phone uses Wi-Fi Calling automatically whenever it is connected to Wi-Fi.
No. Both VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling must be enabled to use the service.
Turn OFF Wi-Fi Calling from phone settings or disconnect from Wi-Fi.
A Wi-Fi Calling icon will appear on the phone’s status bar during a call.
This may happen because: • Your device software is not updated • Wi-Fi Calling is turned OFF in device settings • Your Wi-Fi network is not enlisted • Wi-Fi connection is unstable • Your SIM is not yet provisioned
No. Wi-Fi Calling does not work when VPN is enabled.
No. Wi-Fi Calling does not work in Airplane mode.
The call will automatically switch to the cellular network without dropping, subject to availability.
Wi-Fi Calling is charged at regular voice call rates. No extra charge applies. Calls use your Wi-Fi internet, not GP mobile data.
Yes. ISD calls can be made using Wi-Fi Calling as per standard tariff.
No. Wi-Fi Calling is not permitted during international roaming as per regulatory guidelines.
